The Strategy Execution Manifesto

Most strategies do not fail in the boardroom. They fail in the months that follow, when priorities multiply, budgets drift and the plan stops showing up in the work. Strategy execution is a discipline in its own right, and the people who practice it deserve a shared language. These are the beliefs that define it.

  1. Strategy is a choice, not a list.A strategy that says yes to everything decides nothing. We name what we will stop doing, not only what we will start.
  2. Fewer priorities, fully funded.A priority without budget and people is a wish. We tie every priority to real resources before we call it a plan.
  3. Outcomes over activity. We judge progress by the change we create for customers and the business, not by the number of tasks we complete.
  4. Execution is a rhythm, not an event. The plan has to show up in weekly and quarterly conversations. If it only lives in a deck, it is gone by March.
  5. Leaders decide. Teams own the how.Clarity on direction comes from leadership. Ownership and creativity come from the teams closest to the work.
  6. Learn faster than the plan ages.We review honestly, adjust openly and treat every cycle as a chance to get better at executing, not only at planning.
  7. AI drafts. People decide. We use AI to speed up analysis and drafting, and we keep people accountable for the choices that matter.
